Weird Problem with XP

    ok, when i start up my computer, this black and white screen comes up, it asks me what operating system i want to use... the choices are windows professional XP and something called "line)" i dont know where the "line)" came from.. but eveytime i boot this screen comes up... can anyone help me out how do i get rid of this?

    open explorer or my computer -> tools -> folder options -> view -> click show hidden files and folders -> uncheck hide protected operating system files -> apply -> ok ...... right-click boot.ini in the root of your c: drive -> properties -> uncheck "read only" if it is checked ..... open boot.ini with notepad -> edit out the line with "line" in it

    it would be a good idea to make a backup copy of that file before editing it -> file, save as "boot.bak" or something like that

    would i take out "(Backup Line)" ???
