Ok, I was using Azureus for all of my torrent needs. I decided to switch to Transmission however, and I like it over Azureus. However a weird problem arose after I deleted Azureus. None of my *.torrent files have an icon, they're just blank (or sometimes they still use the blue Azureus frog). I can't figure out how to get all of my torrents to have the Transmission icon. I've tried reinstalling Transmission already, and I know for sure that all *.torrent files are associated with Transmission.

    Any ideas?

apple+click icon (or right if you have 2 buttons)
    get info
    open with: (choose transmission.app)
    then click "Change All".

    Should work now.

See pic below for what you'll need to look at:

Tried it, done it twice, it brings up the dialog box to confirm, and it switches the icons. Then when I hit 'continue' they all revert back to the Azureus icon.

Open spotlight, type in azureus, delete everything that comes up and clear out all your log files. :dunno:

When you got rid of azureus did you zap it or just thrown it in the trash?

Just trashed it, then spotlight searched for it and deleted everything that came up. I dont have zapper.

Nothing comes up when I search for it in spotlight now. :hsd:

How do I clear out log files?

Disk utility? Running that every couple weeks or so usually rids me of these problems.

    Repair permissions. :hs:

    1. To open Disk Utility, from your Applications folder, open your Utilities folder, then double-click the Disk Utility icon.
    2. In the column on the left, click your startup disk's icon.
    3. Click the First Aid tab, and then click Repair Disk Permissions. Disk Utility will reset any files and folders with incorrect settings.

I've done the 'repair permissions' twice now, and it still has the azureus icon. :(

I restarted it last night (first time in a couple of weeks) and now it's fine. Thanks for all the help.
