    5'10 140lbs. Bulking.

Various routines, I have a bench, squats, push ups, pull ups, etc. I don't go to a gym, just use what I've got at home. Seems to be working.

I always eat before I work out, leaving enough time for the food to digest before hand of course. I start out with a bit of water, and drink gatorade throughout. Post workout: protein shake and water. 1 hour after, meal.

Lately I've been feeling EXTREMELY tired after I'm finished. Not really a normal feeling even. Anyone have any ideas? Am I doing something wrong?

    I'm eating around 4500cals/day.

I haven't bulked like this before, so maybe that is why I am experiencing this? Honestly I could sit down postworkout and pass out immediately. :dunno:

I try and avoid it, I don't want to go to sleep with food in my stomach, wouldn't that be a bad idea..

lol i always take a nap after a workout. could be several factors. insulin sensitivity after a high gi post workout shake in addition to the fact your body is recovering from a catabolic stimulus would prompt your body to shutdown temporarily from that stress. sometimes im too tired to even take a shower after a workout.

So you drink a protein shake post workout and then hit the sack?

So it would be no problem to sit down and go to sleep for a bit?

Why would it be a problem?

Sleep is your body's natural recovery time, and having food in there + sleep has got to mean growing. I nap all the time after a workout, and will continue to do so until I see any information saying its not smart...

you're practically fasting when you're asleep and your body needs building blocks esp since your body is most anabolic right after activity, so sleeping is most ideal for this recovery process

    ahh conflicting responses :noes:

Well.. When you sleep, your body doesn't digest as quickly. So I would imagine if you down a protein shake (I combine milk, protein whey, and peanut butter.. milk is one of the most difficult things to digest), and hit the sack, the food would not digest, leaving your body malnourished. I don't know.

    I'll try it.
