it's cold as fuck out (think -40) and i always plug my car in with a block heater. i also start my car and wait at least 5 mins for the interior to warm up before i leave.

when going around a corner and giving it a bit of gas i can hear kind of a metal on metal noise chunking like 2x a second. it only seems to be on corners and when its cold and i'm wondering what this noise could be.

it doesn't make this noise after i've been driving for a while and it only does it when i give it a bit of extra gas/quick turning.

i'm really not sure what it could be, it doesnt happen when going in straight line.

Sounds like the CV joints are on the verge of going bad.
