I dont really like the idea of weight vest training, but if I get one I can train with olympian derek parra on wednesdays, uses them for a jump program to build power on ice.

I think it's brilliant, Bench 900lbs and I'd still be less impressed than trail running in one of these.

We'll see, this guy believes in jumping with these as opposed to heavy squats, but since ive been doing chris' routine, my power has gotten sick on ice.

I sort of feel like Al Bundy telling this story. When I was in highschool I played freshman football with Rumeal Robinson. I remember hearing stories of him running in one of these type of vests and the ones that go on your wrist and ankles. He was in amazing shape, solid as a rock.

We used to do this drill where you lay on your back helmet to helmet, then the coach would drop the ball on one player, you both then had to flip over and the guy with the ball had to get past the other player. Everyone used to complain about going against him... It was like being hit by a car. The only way to stop him was to let him run you over, grab hold and drag him down. :eek3:

I don't care if you can run 5+ miles...what does that do for ya?

If you can run 2 miles straight, you should add weight. It's like having a car whose spedometer/gearing goes up to 300 mph but only has the power to get it to 120 mph before the wind shuts it down.

The weight is distributed differently. I used to walk around the track with 65 lbs of plates in this backpack and it put a lot of stress on stupid parts of my body while causing my form to be stupid.

Yes, for all those times in life you simply have to run 5 miles straight.

You're the kind of person who buys a 70hp geo metro because it gets 40mpg

Personally I'd like the endurance to run about 1-2 miles, but after that it's all strength. I'd rather have balance than an aerobic beanpole body.
