isn't about how strong you are, it's about getting used to it. You're strength is in your tendons and as soon as you quit working out for a month you'll be back right where you began. You're just a physical failure, anything you can do once, I can do 8 times. You name the 4 lifts and I'll beat you in every single one."

This is what my 43 year old manager said to me today. He bet me 100 dollars that he could beat me in every lift, and all I have to put up is 35 dollars to his 100 for each lift.

He also told me that he could DL 405 easily and he couldn't even tell me what a deadlift was...

I'm thinking the only thing he has me on is bench because I have a weak pussy chest.

Just thought I'd share this with you, hopefully in 2 weeks I'll be 400 dollars richer.

What I don't understand is how dead serious he is on this. I've never seen someone exude so much confidence on something he really knows nothing about. I mean for 42 he is in decent shape, but he just came out of an ankle surgery and he has a bad back.

As I was walking away I told him my 4 lifts would be Bench, Front Squat, Deadlift and Standing Military Press.

He was like, well I don't about that deadlift thing, I do have a bad back. But this was after, "I can do 405 easily I used to do 500+ easy back in highschool."

He also told me he could do 195 easily on Standing Military Press. :noes:

    :ugh:

The only bad thing is, this is my boss, the head boss at work, but he's always running his mouth saying how weak I am and how he's the greatest, and finally today I told him to put his money where his mouth is.

It's the old man's idea. I don't see the problem. Just go out there and whoop his ass in bench. He won't want to continue after you display your physical superiority (I'm assuming you are in fact stronger than him).

He's not that low, but he'll come up with some excuse and still rag on me all the time.

Though, if by some miracle he beats me I will NEVER hear the end of it. I might have to quit if that happens.

job or career? If it's anything resembling a career, you know you shouldn't. Aren't you always supposed to let the boss win?

Honestly I doubt I can beat him in bench, just because I'm that weak. 225x1 is the most I've ever done and that was about 2 months ago, so I'm probably around 230-235 now.

    He's 5'10" 195 and I'm 6' 172 :noes:
