weight lifting before 8am

    what is the general opinion on weight lifting early in the morning? my work schedule is going to mess me up this week, and i have to stay in the weights, anything i should do the night before to prep for a 5:30am or 6am workout? i know most people say only do cardio that early...

    i did it for swimming back in the day and if you just make sure to be awake by the time you get there and also make sure to eat something you should be fine. i would suggest some caffeine and a bunch of water before you go too. iced tea works great for me (strong as fuck though). you will probably notice that you get blisters much more easily in the morning....i know i did and i guessed that it was because my hands hadn't had time to stretch out so maybe gloves might be a good idea as well

    I hate it, but I still will do it if I have to. The is some contradictory research that shows more injuries with people who lift heavily first thing in the AM. I guess the fluid in your joints is highest when you wake up and it makes for more injuries or some shit like that.

    yea do it if you have to, i hate doing cardio in the morning, lifting weights doesn't bother me too much so hopefully you should be fine

    95% of my workouts are in the morning. I just make sure I get a good nights sleep (go to bed early) and have plenty of food the day before. I get up about an hour before I work out, have some coffee or espresso and some food. I do notice I am slightly stronger if I can work out later in the day, but I only get that chance maybe once a month. Just make sure you get enough sleep. Working out on 5 to 6 hours of rest just isn't going to work.

    YOu could always take a week off if it's gonna be that hard to wake up

    lots of bb'ers wake up really early in the morning to get their 1st workout in. i usually dont have enough energy to perform as well, guess u have to get used to it.
