Weight fluctuations overnight

    Does anyone have any scientific reason for why my weight would fluctuate so much overnight? I'm not doing anything special, and I weighed myself in at 221 right before I went to bed, and woke up weighing 212. The scale was in the same spot and everything, so I'm not sure if it's the scale or anything else.

    That's alot of fluctuation. Most people only fluctuate 5 or so pounds.

    I know, I was just wondering if there was some kind of scientific reasoning behind it or something.

    Well, it's alot of things. Not drinking or eating while asleep, getting up and peeing, the body repairing itself, growth hormone being released and burning fat or repairing muscle. Did you eat anything different that could have had a diuretic affect?

    don't weigh yourself before going to sleep

    weigh yourself in the morning, once a week max

    few things,
    1 dont weigh yourself that often as neutrl said
    2 how much do you drink in a day
    3. how long between measurements, just wondering because of drift times, and how many times you hit the b room at night.
    4 how big are you, the bigger you are the more you can drift, i was 5-8 145 in hs and drifted 8 lbs for no reason... its all relative

    As long as you don't let it make you crazy, why does it matter if you weigh yourself more than once a week?

    I get really anal and weigh myself every single morning at the same time. I also started weighing myself right before bed just to see how big the change is and it's usually 2-4 pounds depending on if I have to take a crap in the morning and how big my dinner was. I'd guess the majority is just exhaling and sweating and losing water weight.

    I do the same exact thing. I weigh myself every morning before I get in the shower.

    when i would wrestle, i weighed myself first thing, before/after every meal, right before bed.... i was so fucking anal, used to know by looking at the plate a food how much id gain w/in .2 lb.... now i make sure i only weigh myself for fun(before/after a massive shit lol) and seriously twice a week, the mornings after my long cardio days...

    that was before surgery... now i do jack shit workout-wise per doc orders and do it by how flabby/flat my stomach looks...

    9 lbs is a lot, but unless sit happens multiple times I really wouldn't worry about it

    i weighed 207 last night and this morning i weighed 198.5
