so i'll be in vegas from tuesday-saturday. i have a pretty clean diet, eat 6 times a day, and lift 4-5 times a week. i haven't taken a one week break for over a year.

can i treat the trip to vegas as a break? i don't anticipate my diet to be very good. probably a bunch of buffets, liquor all day, not enough water throughout the day, etc. and no, i'm probably not going to care to watch my diet. it's a vacation with friends, so eff the clean break.

my question is, can i still treat this week as a resting week?

i really think i should give my lifting a break, so my other alternative would be to lift for another month after vegas, then take another week off, but with this rest will be a clean diet, along with some cardio.

cliffs: bad diet in vegas for the week, but can i still treat this as a rest week from lifting?

well my whole thing is, i love lifting, and breaks never occur to me, but i know it's very important for muscle recovery from time to time. i haven't been willing to take rests.

so i'm wondering if a week of rest with bad dieting, no cardio (but probably lots of walking), and lots of liquor could even be considered a week for muscle recovery.

dont treat it as a break. find a gym in vegas. use it everyday youre there. then spend the rest of your days in your hotel room preparing meals and drinking at least 1.5 gallons of water per day. make sure to get to bed by 8:30 pm to ensure adequate amounts of sleep. ignore all the drunk sluts wanting to have sex with you, that will only distract you from your training

Just consider it as taking the time off. The frickin' 100 degrees it will probably be while you are here isn't going to motivate you to do otherwise anyway.

umm, sorry for not really being clear.

i'm not worried about not lifting while in vegas. i am going to drink like crazy, and i am going to have a shitty diet. i can live with that for one week.

my question is, can i treat this week as a resting week? i've read that a week of rest is recommended every few months. however, i haven't taken a week of rest from lifting in over a year.

it's about time i do take a week's rest, but i'm not sure if the upcoming week would count as one.
