Wedding photographers, what do you guys use for wedding prints? I need to make 1600 prints. How much do you mark up?

    I use mpix

    4x5/4x6- 10
    5x7 - 20
    8x10 - 30
    11x14 - 50
    16x20 - 125

but for the 4x6's, If they order a large amount, I usually discount them down to $2 or $3 a piece.

For the couple, I print my own on a Epson 4800. For other, it depends on the volume and size. I hate printing under 8x10.

    WHCC
    Millers
    MPIX

    are all great.

For pricing, you should have figured that out before hand ;)

and 1600 what??? I sure as hell wouldn't want 1600 loose prints if I was a couple :hs: Albums are where the money is, and something that becomes their first heirloom and your referral ticket ;)

    My print prices:
    4x6 $10
    5x7 $15
    8x10 $20
    11x14 $35
    16x24 $50
    20x30 $100

    a 16x24 costs me about $4 in ink/paper. 8x10 about $0.60.
For products, usually markup things like gallery wraps 5x normally, 4x for friends discount, 3x for close family.

My albums start at $1500 for a 20 page 10x10. I start designing them at 30 pages, so they either have to pull pages out or add more $$$. Most won't take away if its done well

for an album, I'd suggest going else where.

    asuka
    graphi
    albums inc

and I 2nd everything mojito said... all this stuff should have been put into contract before you shot the wedding.

the first one I got from them as a project book was just plain awful. the replacement was acceptable, but not for a wedding

I did not charge for prints yet, but they want eight albums for the 200 images.

thats kind of the point though, they should know the prices prints cost before they ever signed a contract

so they just want 200 loose prints shoved in a generic photo holder and 8 of them?

Yup. I'm wondering if a book would be a better way to go
