been using www.dreamhost.com for nearly 5yrs now

And i just visited their website, and they're doing a sign-up + 1 year domain hosting for $9.24. That will easily cost you $100 on any other domain :eek3:

wow you guys are the first that I have that love it and recommend it, but I guess it is fine for a hobby, but I would never run my business site on it, I have used them and they suck for what I do and I would never recommend them to a client for them to host their business site on

Dreamhost is great if you aren't running a business. I've experienced a few downtimes but nothing major. I've been with them for 4-5 years and have more space than I know what to do with.

For a hobbyist or even part timer it's not a bad deal. If you want to run a business though I'd definitely look elsewhere. Great deal for the coin, though.

I've been with dreamhost for about 3 years now and have never encountered downtime ever.
