Hello, So I've looked at a few basic webhosting companies - Go Daddy, 1:1, StartLogic... Anyone want to share some pitfalls? Specifically... If the webhosting comes with a free domain registration included in the monthly hosting fee, who actually owns that domain? Me? What happens if I switch hosts? Can I take the domain with me? Any other pitfalls to watch out for? Any favorite hosts? Thanks!

I use Godaddy. Yeah, I think you own you own domain even when you buy it for a promotional $2.00 for the first year with the purchase of at least 2 months of hosting service or something like that. But they charge you the regular $8 - $12 for each year after that for the domain registration without letting you have a promotional deal.

Thanks for the replies. I'm still researching companies. Lots of "XXXX sucks" threads out there for any company I look up, so...

I'll try the subforum for future posts. Thanks.
