It's still being coded now... its probably only about 35% complete, but as it is right now, it can be used as a normal forum, minus a few features.

Let me know what you think. Also, if you have any suggestions of features to add or anything, let me know.

It's being coded in PHP 5 with a mySQL database.

if you are reinventing the wheel here and not just ripping coding from another site (script kiddy style) then thats awesome man. Keep it up, it looks good too.

Here is my advice. Completely reengineer the way people think of online discussions. Sit down and just bang out ideas on how online discussions can be presented differently. Get away from what everyone else has done and do something totally different. Most people will look and your software and see nothing but a rehash of what people have been doing for years. Look and what Google did with gmail. They got away from typical emails and grouped everything as a conversation. They lost folders and came up with labels which they probably just index. Go in that direction and you might come up with something completely revolutionary in online discussion.

yeah, we haven't taken any code from anywhere else. It's all been hand coded by my friend and I.

We're going to try and enter it into the php5 contest, so everything needs to be ours :coold:

thats a good idea. We do have a few features we're working on that will set it apart from most boards... but we'll see what we can do as far as style and stuf.

Looks good, but to be honest it's nothing new. Probably 50+ php-based forum/community softwares available; all look nearly exactly the same. Look at phpBB, Ikon, and uBB. They all virtually look the same..yours not much different.

Go with what CompiledMonkey said.. You need to stand out to make yours notable.
