Man charged with illegally owning firearms

    June 7, 2006, 6:50 PM EDT

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- A Colesville man was arrested and held without bond for illegally owning several guns and assault rifles, state police said Wednesday.

Anthony Troianello, 29, was charged Tuesday with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.

Authorities executing a search warrant discovered 15 firearms in his home, including three handguns and seven assault rifles. One rifle was a .50-caliber weapon capable of firing a projectile up to 2 miles, state police said.

Broome County Humane Society officials also examined more than 200 animals living on the property, including; 74 dogs, 12 cats, 4 exotic reptiles, 5 pot belly pigs, 2 emus, 8 goats and a llama.

At least half of the animals were diseased and will require immediate attention, humane society officials said.

The Town of Colesville is 20 miles northeast of Binghamton.

What i hate about the media, and all the liberal anti-gun people that's out to get the .50 is that they say it can kill at over a mile...

DO THESE PEOPLE REALIZE THAT ONLY TRAINED SNIPERS CAN DO THIS?!?!

I mean yeah your average long range shooting hobbyist is going to be able to hit a target at 1000yds, with lots of practice, and lots of time in controlled conditions. Your average militant probably isn't going to be able to "take down a jetliner at 2 miles" :noes:. They I'd like to see a trained military sniper be able to do that. Hell the longest confirmed kill is only 1.6 miles with the fitty, and that was on a relatively stationary human target.

I fuckin hate the media and liberal anti-gun nuts
