OT price is $360. These are hard to come by since they have the military contract but whenever we can buy some we snatch them all up. We have 8 coming in and last time we got 6 and 4 went to OTers . Let me know if your interested, its the cheapest you'll find them.

What are the differences between the different model EOTechs? I haven't ever messed with one and I just figured a red dot is a red dot.

IMHO I prefer EOTechs for easier target acquisition and both eye open shooting. For me the EOTech is easier to shoot with both eyes open than the Aimpoint. The reticle is easier for me than the dot as well.

EOTech is not a red dot it is holographic. What models were you curious about and I'll run down the differences.

the 511 and 512 are the standard ones, the 551 and 552 are the night vision compatible models. 553 is their newest model

    What's the difference?

Not sure, really. My first AR build will be an 10.5" CQB, if that matters. I suppose I could go to EOTech's site and research, but i'm lazy. :bigthumb:

OK, JPC. I did some research. Seems to me that the 512 would be the model to go with. I don't see any reason that a guy such as myself would need any of the other model. No reason for night vision, and the only difference between the 512 and 511 appears to be the battery selection and possible 65MOA ring delete available on the 511.

So, 512 seems to be the obvious choice. Now to find the money for one, and an AR to put it on.

BTW, any experience with their magnifiers? That'd be a neat option to have.

$370 shipped UPS express insured for double. So if UPS looses it or breaks it you can upgrade to a 553 for free and pocket some cash

I like their magnifiers and have no issues with them besides that they are expensive as hell for just being magnifiers. They are nice when you put them on a swivel mount

Ever going to carry the XLP or regular holosight? I don't think I'll need the ruggedness of the EOTech.
