you should be in RAW+small jpg. and your jpg compression should be rock bottom. if i happen to take a picture that i REALLY like (like one i'd consider printing but ultimately won't because we judge our own work so harshly) then i go through and pick out JUST THAT RAW FILE and put it somewhere else. otherwise i sift through the small jpgs (my camera spits out a ~300k image thats still larger than most screens can even display at 100%). i pick the ones i like, save whatever raws i like, AND THROW EVERYTHING ELSE AWAY (including the unused raws). keeping gigs and gigs of RAWS that youre NEVER GOING TO LOOK AT is silly. this small picture is generally good enough for 95% of the casual shooting i do. its especially nice with friends to be able to give pictures they like straight from your camera, not "ok now i have to go home and import these to lightroom". amirite?
