I've read some of the stuff on True Protein and a few other places.

Looks like it's just a replacement for Malto and Dextrose?

Just wanted to get everyones opinions on it and see what you know about it.

Nutrex's Vitargo CGL, Pure Vitargo and True Protein's bulk powder are the only places to get it right? Sounds like Mike is going to come out with something with Primaforce though.

    EDIT: Just found this Nutraplanet - KWICK KARB 2.2lbs - $10.00 http://anabolicminds.com/store/1248.html

Thank you for the response. I guess what I'm really after is it just another fad or does it has sustainable benefits?

from what ive read about it there are deffinite benifits.

    this is from nutraplanet:

    Waxy Maize Starch
is a long chain complex carbohydrate with a molecular weight 100 times greater than maltodextrin and 3000 times greater than dextrose, making it the “perfect carb” for athletes and bodybuilders for recovery and muscle fullness. Due to its higher molecular weight, Waxy Maze Starch (WMS) has the ability to move through the stomach 80% faster than dextrose or maltodextrin, for rapid glycogen replenishment and nutrient uptake in the muscles. Bottom line, NutraPlanet KWICK KARB™ is the ideal super carbohydrate for faster recovery and massive pumps without bloating or gastro discomfort at an unbeatable price!

    I've read the figures.

But, I haven't seen any studies that substantiate the claims. It sounds good in theory though. I also understand that you need to take it on it's own to not negate the High GI effects of it?

im guessing because it will not allow it to pass quickly through your stomach. the neat thing about WMS is that it gets to your bloodstram about twice as fast as other carbs

There are 5% off coupon code everywhere, here's one : CHT999
Waxy maize is only useful if you take it alone though.

So how would you recommend taking it, without sacrificing post-workout protein shakes.

Either alone or not at all. I only know of one bodybuilder who didn't get off the bandwagon.

    In the link...

Post workout: Mix 75 grams of WMS in 20 oz. of water. Shake or blend for 30-45 seconds. Consume immediately after workout to replenish glycogen levels and enhance recovery. May be mixed with protein of choice within 30 minutes following workout or physical activity.

The deal with waxy maize is its molecular weight. If you take it with something else, the magical properties are useless, just like GI you'd have to take it on an empty stomach alone to get the same results to the ones in laboratories.

Yeah well, that's because the only guy I saw that still uses it now does his diet hehe. The guy's doing pretty good though, but between this and plain glucose there's probably not gonna be a difference.
