I washed my car today and laid down a good coat of Meguiars Gold Class to seal things up and put something on the car (I had taken off most of the old wax beforehand). When I finished with that, it was really too dark to do another coat (I am plannign on throwing on some S100). Can I just use a california car duster to get off any dust that may have settled overnight and go to town tomorrow with the S100 or do I have ot wash it again to make sure it's clean?

    (note: the car is garaged)

    Thanks!! :)

While the California Car Duster is a great product, I would do a wash before I waxed my car. You want to make sure the paint is nice and clean.

There's really no need for the Gold Class, BTW. 1 or 2 coats of S100 would be just fine. :)

My only worry about the S100 is that it doesn't seem to last very long. :sad2: I was hoping to use the Gold Class (which seems to last longer) underneath and then kind of "polish" it with the S100.

As for the Car Duster, I guess I'll just have to wash it again before I wax it. Maybe I'll leave work a little early one day this week and knock that out. Thanks for the advice! :)

Actually, S100 lasts a lot longer than Gold Class. Not only in my own personal experience, but also according to the testing at Guru Reports where S100 was one of only 4 carnubas to bead the full 8 weeks of the testing (both Collinite waxes and Meguiars #26 were the other ones). In addition, at the end of the 8 weeks, S100 looked a lot better than Gold Class.

Dust the car, then use a quick detailer product before waxing.

Will the S100 quick detailer suffice? :)
