I've been lurking this forum for a while now, it's time for me to say hi :) I got my first DSLR about a month ago (XT) and I've been very happy with it. Right now my main focus is learning to make proper exposures, then it's on to composition. A few shots of mine:

There are some amazing photographers here, I've learned alot just from lurking so thanks :wavey:

I'm still using the kit lens and I'm thinking about the 50mm 1.8 as my first "upgraded" glass. I like shooting portraits and people in general so I think it's a good noob lens. Can't beat $99 either :o Good/bad idea?

50mm f/1.8 is the shizz. Don't think twice. I use it more than my kit lens. You'll laugh at the kit lens when you realize how soft of shots it takes after using the 50.
