I need to watermark few pictures and I don't have anything that will do it.

Is there some freeware that will allow me to watermark a picture with a name and not add some 'need to register' crap next to it?

I don't need anything fancy, just some simple text.

I am actually interested in about the same situation... I would like to ink a little signature or water mark in the corners of all my things automatically with out having to fireup photoshop... is there a way to do this in light room?

you can in lightroom, but i think you have to create the image in photoshop or something and then import it into lightroom.

^^ way to be an asshole.

Make up something in PS and either make is a brush in PS, or import it into LR and use it as your badge.

The very first Google hit for "freeware watermark" does exactly what you want. I downloaded and installed it. It doesn't leave "please register" anywhere.
