Every car ive ever owned has had these water spots, with a ring of what looks to be a rust deposit in them. Now is this common, is there a way to prevent these?.

That isn't normal unless you have water with a high iron content. I can't tell you how to prevent it because I don't have enough information from you. Where is this happening and under what conditions?

Id snap a pic but i just cleaned them off.. The car sits outside, its only 3 months old and as i said, happens to every car ive owned. It just looks like a water spot with a red/orange/brown deposit in it.. Someone suggested to me that it may be polution related.

Okay, but where is the water coming from in the first place? Sprinklers? Rain? Dew? Washing?

mostly rain/dew. I park on the street and the sprinklers are close.. I guess the mist could be causing it. I dont drink our tap water so that could be a cause.

Do you live near railroad tracks or some sort of metal grinding business? Seems like it is some sort of industrial fallout. Wash it off as soon as you see it. Unless you can park inside, I don't know how you can avoid it.
