A friend of my dad has a watch that he's worn for over 30 years. He said it has a tuning fork inside, I'm not sure what that means. . .

At some point he had surgery and he now has a titanium plate in his neck. Now when he wears the watch, it gains an hour for every 8 hours he wears it, so he keeps it in his pocket.

Does anyone know how that relationship works or what he may be able to have done to the watch to fix it? He took it to a jeweler and the jeweler was ignorant too.

    Thanks!
