I had my ammo can for my M44 on sitting on the ground last night because I had recently used it and just had not put it away yet. I kept thinking to myself, I should probably put that away because those sharp edges don't look too nice.

Sure enough, last night I was getting some stuff together to leave and I brushed by the can on accident. The result:

Fortunately, I have a room mate is pretty good with First Aid.
He cleaned me up a bit, which was very nice of him(the hair is shaved because he did that to put a butterfly on). I went to the school "Wellness Center" (a.k.a. The Vet) and they want me to come back to see the Doc when he gets in. :o

Moral of the story: Don't leave your ammo cans laying on the ground.

A real man would have kept shooting until the barrel was scorching hot and then cauterized himself with it.

I saw the nurse and she said you can only wait 12 hours to get stitches so it looks like that's not an option. Hopefully I'll just get some Steri-strips.

I had my last tetanus shot just about 5 years ago, so I might get another shot.

Your guess is as good as mine... :dunno:

There's a bunch of numbers on the lid... one says 12/86 so maybe 21 years old?

    I got 5 stitches... :o

And I got my last Tetanus shot 5 years ago and apparently, they want new shots every 5 years so I got another shot.

I'm all good to go now. :big grin:

:eek3: That hurts just looking at it.

I managed to dig a small furrow in the side of my hand with the front sight of my 10/22 last night. :(

Yeah, at first I just said a metal box then described it later... they didn't quite follow. They just wanted to make sure it wasn't rusty or anything, which it wasn't.

I sliced the palm of my hand open on one of those. I started filing the edges down right after I open new cans now :o
