Looks like I'm moving up there in the fall and I'm looking for a dojo. I'll be moving to the Graham/Puyallup area. What I haev found is Marcello Alonso (Carlson Gracie Black Belt) in Puyallup. Downside is 2 days a week only and $115 a month. But I have read nothing but good reviews about him and his teaching. http://www.mabjj.com/index.htm

Also found Foster BJJ in Kent, which has an awesome looking schedule and cheap at $110 a month for unlimited access, but it would be like a 45 minute drive and gas would suck. http://www.fosterbjj.com/

Anyone familiar with these schools or anything else in the Puyallup/Tacoma area? Thanks!

Just make sure you stay the fuck away from I5 during rush hour. I was stuck down on the I5 on my way back to Vancouver during rush hour. A 3 hour drive turned into a 5.5 hour drive :o

I really need to get back into it. Did you ever join at Gracie Bara Costa Mesa? I remember you said you talked to Mike.

Um I would be living in Graham which is about 45 minutes southeast of Tacoma, so like hour atleast from Seattla if traffic is good

Auburn isn't too far I'll look into that, thanks!

His main school is in Seattle. His Puyallup location is only open two days I guess because of that, he also has some affiliate schools, but he doesn't teach at them.

I'm up at Marcelo's school in Seattle. The Puyallup school is pretty legit though, I know lots of good people coming out of there. I think the puyallup school has more "MMA" focused guys there if that's what you're looking for. Of course, I highly recommend Marcelos. As far as other schools in that area.. I think think that I recall seeing some guys wearing like Tacoma MMA shirts or something. Are you looking for more of BJJ or MMA?
