Do you guys recommend AGAINST washing a car with a pressure washer? My brother just got a new 1800 psi pressure washer that he used to wash his '00 4Runner.... I am somehow afraid that this could damage the clearcoat on both of my cars... any opinions?

    Don't you have a hose?

I've used a pressure washer to wash all sorts of stuff off concrete. I would NEVER use it on my car or recommend it. As far as damage, I don't know what it would do, but a hose works fine for me.

Wouldn't he have to have a hose to use a pressure washer?

I have a customer who has one hooked up to a reverse osmosis/deionizer water tank that he has me use on his cars...and right now, he has a Rolls Royce Phantom, plus I have used it on the Lamborghini Diablo and Bentley Continental SC he used to have. Never had a problem with it at all, other than I can still wash cars faster using Optimum No Rinse.

I use it on clients cars all the time. Especially with a foam cannon!

unless it's the ultra strong sharp stream attachment, what damage could a pressure washer possibly do to a cars finish?

i'm going to buy an electric 1800 psi pressure washer once my water softener is hooked up.

I can put car wash in it and pressure wash the cars (unless they are reallly dirty) then i'll have to use a wash mitt...but i don't see how it could harm the finish.

i'd be weary of using a 3000 psi washer on an older paint finish...though...

aslong as you dont put it against the paint you'll be fine. I love using it on BMW wheels and extremely muddy cars.
