car has been under a cover in the driveway for nearly a year. I got it running again, and figured Id clean it up.

I did the Mothers claybar, then meguiars clear coat/paint scrub cleaner.
At that point I decided that the paint was too shitty to bother doing the polish and wax, so I just slapped on a coat of turtle wax that was laying around... either way, pretty decent for an 18 year old car. The paint is a sprayglo $200 special. they did an ass poor job of it. its got runs, cracks, peels, and has faded pretty badly. even with a clay bar I couldnt get all the shit out of it/off of it.

pretty impressive to see a conquest rust free....but then again, noticed you're in FL-that would explain why.. ;)

btw, feel extremely good that you are one of the few who hasn't totally cracked off the bottom ground effects on the front bumper-every conquest in NYC (the few that still exist) have knocked theirs off ages ago...

every one out there has the front clip torn up...

they are not very tow truck friendly...
and unfortunately alot of them see one at some point or another...

and replacements are hard to come by and pricey. mines been patched a time or two with fiberglass... you can see that didnt hold up too well... oh well. life goes on.

Pretty good improvement, especially since you limited the steps. Looks a whole lot better than it did.

    the scary part is...

the interior in this car is nearly flawless.

the leather is a bit dry and stiff from not being treated for years...

but the carpet, dash, headliner, and even the original floor mats, trunk mat, deck cover etc... are ALL looking like they are brand spanking new
