    1. i put my 96D up for trade for a G17. some guy asked me how much i want for it cash, i said 400+shipping. he replied how about 400 shipped, it should be 10 bucks for shipping.

    2. i said i would have to check shipping and get back to him. (turned out to be more like 25-30)

    3. so i said if he wants to do 400 shipped i would have to check for gun store trades around here over the weekend since i initially wanted to trade.

    4. looked at gun store and all they had was 2nd gen.

    5. so i told him i will do it but since the shipping is actually $25 i would like to keep my hogue grips.

    6. today he replied that i made him feel like i was his 2nd choice and he doesn't want the gun anymore

so he got butt hurt, and i can't help but feeling like a bad boyfriend? did i do wrong?

it would only be bad if i said SOLD, then nope nvm found a higher bidder, opps buyer back out u still want it?

I would have done the same thing. If you explained everything to him don't feel bad about it.

he was trying to get the lowest price possible, while u are trying to get the highest price possible... someone is going to loose out in the end, better it not being YOU (whether you are the buyer or seller)

good luck with finding a trade ;)

He IS your second choice cos he's haggling. If he wants to make himself 2nd over $10-15 bucks, that's his problem.

Email him back, apologize, and then tell him you want $425.

since the deal offered wasn't what you had requested, durn tootin he's choice #2 or further down the ladder. you were upfront w/everything, he can either accept that and move on or not. either way, you're clear in my book.

Not at all. This is business. Though i can kinda slightly see where he was coming from if it happened in the order you put it. #3 does make it seem like you would honor the deal fully if you couldn't find a trade.

a deal is not a deal until we speak on the phone and a check is in the mail. I have walked away from a couple people that don't seem to have their shit together. Good call dumping the pizza blaster though
