I loved that movie. I am the proud owner of the blue ray and DVD collector's editions :o (looks like a briefcase,yo. Don't knock it).
I know a LOT of people that hate it (all my friends), but I figured we should throw a thread in here for it too. DISCUSS!
Have to get ready for work, but I'll join in later. :hsugh:

I think I would like it, but I always get put off by how dark it seems

    yeah, I saw your post.
I was going to call you out, but I would have opened myself up to "lurk moar" and "nice post count".. that tends to be off putting. :hsugh:

I've only ever seen the director's cut and according to my brother the theatrical version is better due to the narration. Maybe I'll give that version a go sometime.

I personally prefer the narrated version too. Gives it more of an old detective movie feel.

I'm sure that was intentional. The whole movie is shot in a film-noir style.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain. Time to die.

Yeah after the director's cut, final cut, super cut, ultimate cut, excellent cut, epic cut, super final cut, unnecessary cut, the last no really we mean it this time cut, etc.

He's like George fucking Lucas, trying to completely remake the movie. In the film without all the changes and re-edits, it's not true.

I loved Blade Runner. I don't see how anyone can call themselves a sci-fi fan and not like this movie.

i think theatrical is the one everyone should see the first time. it's what everyone else saw the first time and it was a well respected and beloved film long before it was 'revamped'. that says something about the theatrical cut that a lot of people shit on now.

That's a big part of what I liked about it. The whole movie is shot and presented as a modern film-noir detective story. It's just not complete without the narration.
