I think I might have put to much weight on the calves. I can hardly stand today. Any idea how long this will take to recover from?

recovery is an individual thing, it's kinda hard to tell someone when they will recover.

If it's the first time you've blasted them like that, probably ~4ish days until they feel somewhat normal. After that I doubt they'll get that sore again as long as you work them out reguarly.

    hmmm calves...

I always have a pattern that 2 days after I do legs is when I feel the weakest, but it gets much better after the 2nd day.

for some reason my calves are probably the most conditioned part of my body. i can work them as hard as i want, and theyve never felt sore.

Been there. Walking around campus all fucking day with a heavy ass bag on didnt feel very good to boot. Lots of stretching, sleep, nutrition, hydration helps, as you probably know.

maybe you need to up the weight?

i almost never feel sore after working out anymore, but thats only cuz ive been consistent with it. Not to say that I dont feel taxed after the gym...just not sore.

like previously said, id say it would take a good 4-5 days for you to fully recover if its the first time you "blasted" your calves the way you did.

might have pulled/ripped some muscle fibers.

had that happen to me once and i had to walk tippy toed for like a week. Then i got the area deep tissue massaged and the pain went away.

nope. i almost never work my calves. even months off of the gym, ill go in, and hit the calve machine (the sit down one where you put the balls of your feet on the flat bar and push down) and ill do like 250+ Lbs til failure, be a little sore as i get off the machine, and within a few minutes im back to normal. :dunno:

You need to lay in bed at night massaging your legs for hours.

happens to me fairly often, especially when i do 3x10-10-10s going from higher to lower weight. the next 2 days it'd be pretty sore, but after they're fine.

It's really bad the first day or two after, by the third day it will feel much better and within about 5 you'll be fine. Don't put so many 45's on the calf raise machine next time broseph!
