Let me start by saying that I am a fucking idiot.

I was on steam 20 minutes ago and received a message from a friend I used to play CS with. It was a link saying you have a chance to win a free game from Steam. I didn't think much of it because it was a guy I knew sending me it and I thought it was some sort of promotion Valve was running.

Like a retard, I filled out the login info on this site http://www.valveusers.justforfree.com

It seemed legit at first glance, but now that I look back I should have known better. There were a shitload of warning signs, but I didn't pay attention too much. A couple minutes later my account was logged in from another location and they changed my password and now I cant log on my account.

ANYONE RECEIVE A MESSAGE FROM SOMEONE ON STEAM ABOUT WINNING A FREE GAME DO NOT BE A FUCKING RETARD LIKE ME AND FILL IT OUT.

    :o

Had a message like that last night. Link was to valvegamers1.t35.com

I just don't click links or reply to anyone but those on my friends list.

Also if you want your account back, contact Steam support. It may take a few weeks to get your account back though.

already opened a ticket. I don't have a lot of friends on steam and rarely get messages from them. I just assumed he sent out a mass message to all his steam friends. He always seemed like a trustworthy guy. What a faggot.

The funny thing is "you" are probably sending messages to all the people on your friend's list as we speak.

I just went to that website in hopes of just typing in a bunch of bogus user names and passwords, but I dont see anywhere where you would put any of this information......so how exactly did this site get your password?

    "valve users just for free"

Sure, that definitely looks like a legitimate address valve would use.

back in my hardcore gaming days I would have lost it, but I don't game nearly as much anymore so I'm not stressing out too much about it. The shittiest part about it is knowing I've dumped about $400 on that account since 2004 and now some fuck face has control of it.

so you must of been a 4 or 5 digit steam account. Normally thats the reason why they chase people down to put your account on ebay.
