Sick. Signed up and got a code. I'm in queue at FilePlanet now.

However, I'm thinking of paying the $6 to become a subscriber for a month. Any reason I shouldnt?

People have been complaining about LONG ass queues at fileplanet, but the $6 will get you passed them. Not sure if there's a still long queue. It's worth the $6 to skip it either way, IMO. I think you also get faster downloads.

Yeah the cue was at 1300 something for a free account. Did a 1 month subscription and started downloading immediately.

I wonder what my latency will be when I start playing WoW tonight while downloading this. When I was downloading the WOTLK beta client i was up to like 2-3000ms.

Is there any way into the WotLK beta, or do you have to be selected?

You had to sign up for the Opt-In and hope you got picked.

I signed me and my wife up and she got the key. But she gave it to me. :coolugh:

Have you done an RvR scenario yet? Those are a blast.

To the thread starter, if you pre-order, you can d/l from fileplanet, and it would be beneficial to have a fileplanet sub so that you can get a fast download.

I don't know why previous's friend payed $50 for the pre-order. At EB, I only had to put down $5, which is pretty much the standard minimum for all pre-orders.

Is anyone else noticing in the RvR beginning scenario that they are among the very top players each time? I sucked big time at PvP in WoW. So now I'm wondering if the people I'm playing with haven't PvP'd before, or have only done PvP in DAOC a long time ago or something. Maybe I got good practice in WoW? I have no idea, but I do know that I am definitely teh suck when it comes to PvP.

Maybe it's because I heal alot? I noticed that nobody heals a whole lot and maybe this game credits the healers alot or something. :dunno:

One of the main reasons why I might roll a healer. You can never have enough healers and guilds everywhere always look for good healers. It'll be a hell of a lot easier for PUG as well

I got into the beta by buying a beta key at Target. Then I downloaded the client from a bit torrent that Mythic recommended. Took a whole day. Now, let me sum up the game. Completely not worth the trouble, at least not right now. After playing DAOC for over 3 years and WoW for over 3 years and now I play LOTRO since last November, Warhammer isn't that great to me. I'm sure there will be plenty of people who like it, but it seems very linear and very closed in to me. Only interesting thing that is new to me is public quest system. Other than that, there are tons of things about that game that Mythic used ideas from DAOC and other games as well. Oh, and the player models stink too. I'll stick with LOTRO. :big grin:

If you are a Tolkien fan then LOTRO is a heavenly game, and I am so I think it is. New expansion coming out soon, and still tons for me to do as it is. I will say that I beta tested LOTRO and didn't enjoy it so I didn't buy it when it launched, but 7 months later I gave it another try and totally fell in love with it, the environment, the community on the server I'm on, etc. SO much better than other games recently. And no, I'm not mistaken about Warhammer, at least not my first impressions of it. Maybe in 6 months to a year it will be worth my time, but to be honest, I'm just not that impressed.
