    the receiver should be drilled/tapped already for mounting scope rings. leupold, nikon, simmons, bushnell. a variable 3-9 power scope is probably the most common scope. muzzle loader loads from the open end of the barrel. .270 is not a muzzle loader. "regular" as you call it refers to loading metallic cartridges from the breech. 30-06 is more powerful than a .270. as for nice rifle, that is determined by quality of components and fitting vs caliber.

    i doubt you'll find one w/that large of a variance between high and low, but they do go higher than 9 power.

    husky = husqvarna

    i dont think they make em anymore.. my dad has an old husqvarna 270..

    I myself have a Ruger M77MKII .270 , I like it, triggers heavy though.

    so I suggest either anything from savage, or a rem 700

    for a good versatile caliber, go with the .308

    accurate, lots of ammo available, good range, trajectory, power.

    #1 choice for law enforcement snipers :bigthumb:

    for a great gun at a great price, check out the Savage lineup. just today in the Dick's ad, I saw a Savage 111 combo (with scope) for $320.

    I absolutely love my Rem. 700 in .270 it is very accurate, and has the nicest trigger job.
