    System Specs :

    P4 3.0 800 Mhz FSB
    512 PC3200
    Intel P4P800 Mobo
    ATi 9800 Pro

I'm kinda wanting to upgrade to the AMDFX 3200+ or the 3400+. Most bang for the buck?

First off. I would highly suggest more RAM. 1GB will serve you a lot better then just 512.

what you have now seems to pretty ok... just upgrade the RAM or maybe get some additional hardware... no real need to upgrade now considering all the price drops that are going to happen within the next few months. wait for PCI express so when you buy a new motherboard and you want to go AMD you can get the nForce4 motherboard with pci express support..

There's no point in upgrading your CPU. Upgrade to a gig of RAM.

But with PCI Express, won't all the AGP cards become outdated?

Not really sure the theory behind PCI Express. I just heard it is the next generation AGP and that AGP will be become obsolete.

:werd: I would upgrade the RAM first, then wait until some new CPUs come out and replace it then (along with a new mobo probably).

Is the 6800 ultra worth the extra $100 over the 6800 GT?

My 6800 GT plays Doom3, FarCry, and CS:Source just fine at high resolutions with AF and AA...

Just to clarify, you can't simply upgrade an Intel chip to an AMD chip without replacing the MOBO.

I think your computer is pretty decent as is. If you want to upgrade, get some more RAM. If you want a faster computer, you might as well overclock it if you have a good HSF and multiple fans in your case.
