I want to move my important documents from C: to another physical drive, one that I have the option of removing. I know it is simple to move the folder, but how can I reassign where Windows looks for those folders? I seem to recall reading about it recently, in WinXPNews or somesuch, but I didn't stop to write it down and now I've lost it.

    Thanks

I am assuming you are using Windows XP here since you referenced WinXPNews. Make sure you have My Documents being show on your desktop first off (Display Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop). Once you have it shown just right click on it and change the path. You will have to have the new location of your My Docs folder already created but it's simple to do really.

To you maybe...everyone has a different sense of humor so what might be funny to me won't to the next guy.

You should be able to right-click on the My Docs folder, re-direct it to somewhere else, and then go into your display properties and remove the folder from the desktop.

Is that what you are looking for?

nope, jollly had it right. i want to change all of the pointers system wide, not just the desktop icon. tweakui does that.
