Want to know some real good blues songs.

    Hey guys,

    Ive been playin guitar for about 8 years, and I'm in a little rut. I play mostly metal, dug a little into blues and classical, and I really want to learn some more of the style. I love SRV, and Hendrix and Page, Clapton etc, etc, but what are some songs that really emphasize the style. I want to download some new songs. I'm also looking for artists that maybe few people have heard of. Thanks guys...

    Try some Roy Buchanan, maybe Johnny Winter, Buddy Guy. :bigthumb:

    personal faves are:

    Devil Got My Woman - Skip James
    Hard Times (No One Knows Better Than I) - Ray Charles
    Am I Wrong - Keb' Mo'
    Just Won't Burn - Susan Tedeschi

    hell check out Martin Scorsese's "Best of the Blues" cd... picked it up a lil while ago and its a wonderful compilation...

    I found that the Scorsese's blues cd's which i like the best are the ones that are one artist. Like the Allman Bros or Jimi Hendrix or Eric Clapton. The compilation has alot of old school blues that i am not into :bigthumb:
