I am about to sell my truck and I am going to join the jeep crew to get a little better gas mileage and to go offroading. Should I go 4 cyclinder or 6 cyclinder? I know the 4.0's are durable for sure. What do you think? I'm going to be spending some where around $5500. Anyone got one for sale?

marginal economy differences between 4 and 6 as you'll be working that 4 a bit harder. I'd get the 4.0

ya the MPG between the 4 and 6 is marginal at best. Plus the 6 is alot easier to find parts for should something go wrong (and more power :))

If you lift it, don't expect to get better gas mileage. I'm on 35's, and in the winter with my hard top and full doors I get 13-14mpg. In the summer without the top and doors I get 10-11 on the highway. I have a '93 with the 4.0.

4.0L. 2.5L is a dog on the highway. Add a lift and bigger tires and you have a vehicle that is slower than a moped.
