Ok, the Gf is flying in to come visit me.
And her flight is going to arrive early in the morning, like graveyard shift hours.

After a long flight, i am sure she'll feel tired, so I want offer her a nice, relaxing bath if she wants.

I have been looking at bath and body works. And I am heck confused.
I see things such as body washes, body gel, body scrubs, bubble bath, bath soaks & salt ... and I have no idea what any of those things do.

What exactly do I need for a nice, relaxing bath?
Would someone be kind enough to help out? :o

    Epsom salt.
Get it at walmart. Throw a handful in the bathwater, its very relaxing and good for the skin. Just dont drink it, it makes a great laxitive too hehe.

For afterwards you could go to The Body Shop (most malls have one it seems, at least here on the east coast). Their body butter products are quite nice and they have a number of different scents to choose from. Or the scented body oils are nice as well.

Remember to rub her feet. Every woman loves a good foot rub.

If you have a Lush store near you, or if there's time to buy stuff online, go with their products. They do things called 'Bath Bombs' which are great. They're all natural products too. But you can get Bath Bombs that have say petals in them that when they dissolve there's petals floating in the water. It's a nice touch..

A nice towel or a bathrobe just for her. A relaxing bath isn't very nice if you have to use a hard old towel at the end.
I prefer bath beads or the little salts you put at the bottom of the tub.
Some candles are always good too. Find out what scents of lotions she likes and buy her a bottle of that with some matching body wash. Honestly you can't really go too wrong with this one ;)

Oh yeah, the big fluffy body size white towel with the big fluffy bathrobe is essential.

Now, before I forget, you get major cudos for this. It's a wonderful thing.

Now, about Bath and Body Works, what do you want to accomplish? Do you want to help her sleep? do you want to get her in the mood? do you want to tell her you love her without ever uttering the words? That will determine what you should get.

Lavender is a great option too. This has a whole line, from milk bath to bath gel to massage oil to pillow mist. Can't go wrong here

Getting her in the mood? Ylang Rose is pretty good (not as good as Ylang Ylang Myrrh, though)

thanks for the input :big grin:

After 4 hrs of long flight and getting in at wee hour in the morning, I think only Venus herself can get her in the mood :p

I guess my goal is simply to get her to relax and have a good nights rest.

    One more question though.
Can someone explain to me what are body salt, body scrub, and body soaks?
And which of those would help me accomplish the goal of getting to her relax for a good night's rest after 4 hrs of long flight?

Body salts and body scrubs are about the same thing: gritty rough medium that helps take off the dead skin. Not really what you want after a long flight.

Stick with the lavendar, and you might want to get foam bath and mix it with the cheap epsom salts, because those salts are the best for soaking sore muscles.

Make sure you get something to put the bath gel on. I can't for the life of me remember what the name is.

If you want to look a little more thoughtful you can use food coloring to color the epsom salt and put it in a nice glass container (also found at walmart or a craft store). It wont stain anything dont worry.

Different colors and pour them in making designs and what not. Works good for last minute gifts too heh.
