So right now my current whip is a 1992 Honda Accord Sedan and it's alright, it gets me to work and back alright, but I am looking for something a little bit better. I'm looking for another sedan, but much faster....I was thinking maybe a WRX? What do you guys think would be a good car for under 16000 that gives me speed, performance, and somewhat decent mpg?

2002-2003 6-speed maxima. I learned to drive on a '92 accord and loved it, but my maxima is so much better. First problem I've ever had just happened at 85k miles and it was a $30 clutch slave cylinder... You can pick one up for about $10-12k, they run low 14s, and get good gas mileage (especially on trips.. revs at 2300 at 80; I get 32 mpg on the highway and 23-25 in town). The only thing they need from the factory is some suspension improvements. New springs and struts make this car excellent.

nice suggestion, probably would be easier to find than a wrx that hasn't been modded and/or beat on either.

clubwrx.net has a good section of info for those looking to buy used wrx's with a lot of things to watch out for.

Thanks for all the help guys, i really appreciate any help when it comes to this stuff, I don't really know too much about cars. I found a WRX on craigslist for 13k that has 40k miles. It's a 2005 WRX. Is that a good deal?

it's a good deal as far as suggested values are worth for an '05 with 40k miles, but there's a lot more to buying a car than just face value. talk to the guy, ask him questions and drive the car according to what you can read up on on clubwrx.net if you don't know much about cars. if he doesn't know crap either, chances are he didn't take very good care of it. you don't want to buy a car then spend several k fixing shit they fucked up.

Yeah my brother owns a 2003 Maxima, pretty quick actually and still gets about 29-30MPG. Maximas are very reliable as well...

Don't ge the maxima. Don't get a used car. Lease yourself a base brand new accord, no headaches, great mpg. Obviously not fast, but it makes up for it being new and feeling nice.

...they're not FAST but low 14's is more than quick enough for the average driver. (for the record I ran a [email protected] in my car...)

13.9 in my old 02, hay now.

+1 for the Maxima, definitely less chance of being thrashed by a previous owner when compared to a WRX. A fuckton more comfort/common features as well.
