Whats the latest buzz with this range lens? I want to keep it under $1000........it'd be nicer to be around $500, but I want to get the best one I can get pretty much. Sucks I don't have full frame with my 30D, but oh well.

    Anyone been shopping lately?

what's the deal with the tokinas? I hear there's only a handful of the production lenses that are worth a shit.

The Tokinas are built like a tank and are every bit as sharp as the canon and more in some areas. CAs are an issue with most third party ultra wides but shooting RAW makes that and easy fix with ACR, Lightroom, PM, RSE etc. Like anything else, I would find a good camera store and go try a few out, though most stores will probably only have the Canon and maybe the Sigma in stock.

Thats what I want to hear, a definitive answer.

I am still debating on picking up a nice fisheye for the stuff I take wide angle shots for.........possibly instead of a 10-2X.....
