I would like to spend no more then $50 a week(7 days) for food. Right now i spend $100 on shitty food, mostly items you bake or nuke

I can add more money if need be.

Anyway, like the title says, i want to start dieting.

I bike 5 miles 5 days a week. And my current job is labor, so i eat like a pig as i use up a lot of energy. So i get a work out, i have lost like 40lbs in the past year, but seem to have stopped @ 256.

What can i get that is in my budget and healthy. I need lots of items, i dont want to be eating the same thing daily.

Buy one get one free bags of frozen, skinless, boneless chicken breast/tenderloins at Foodlion.
    Cans of tuna in water.
And if you were serious about loosing weight you would be running 5 miles 5 days a week.

I know this thread is about food...but if fatloss has stopped, increase your cardio. Maybe do 6 miles for 5 days a week or something... Also, I wouldn't go by length but by amount of time. Try to keep an elevated heart rate for a certain amount of time instead of by how many miles you rode....

as far as food is concerned.... get a costco membership if you can and get some chicken breasts or thighs (depending on your diet).. whey, cottage cheese, and eggs are all good too. you can get them all at costco in bulk at fairly cheap prices.

veggies in cans (bonus cans that are bent/dented are almost free so throw some on the ground) and tuna.

Switch up your cardio, bike, run, eliptical machine, row, dance, fight shit just go for a walk or something.

agreed, but for the same distance, running is better (although it takes way longer, too)

what about if you are going by time? usually i'll try to run after i lift, but some days my knees hurt too bad and biking is a lot easier on them. but i will bike for the same amount of time, even though its a lot longer distance.

Bulk or canned legumes (carbs and some protein, not bad), it's cheap as hell. Then some meat on special, veggies, bread (you could make some hoummos with the chickpeas to go on the bread), eggs. Buy whole chicken and huge chunks of meat and freeze them then you can cook them in a crockpot or something with some veggies and whatever sauce you find.

Hmm. Now that I sit here and think about it.. Forgetting supplements, aren't most healthy foods considered cheap? I can't think of anything expensive I eat.. Seriously..

That's what I've found. Chicken, tuna, ground beef, vegetables, ground turkey, eggs, rice, whey, etc. are all cheap as hell. The most expensive stuff I seem to buy are almonds, beef jerky, and protein bars. I haven't figured it out yet, but I'm pretty sure I could what I eat for the week is <$50.
