Moved to Wichita and into a new apartment a couple months ago. I need some ideas for Wall Hangings/Art, etc... to add some character and style to my apartment. The walls are all boring and white and I don't really have a set of furniture or anything to match so I'm open to anything. I looked through the Artists, Prints, Photographs, etc... thread and saw some pretty cool stuff but I was wondering if anybody had any other ideas? I relatively open to anything, keep in mind I'm a single guy with a somewhat limited yet not non-existant budget.

    Thanks in advance

First and foremost I need something to hang over the head of my bed

Here's a cheap and simple way I spruced my bachelor pad in under 30 minutes:
Find a few pictures you like, and print them out in 4"x5" format (or whatever format you want, really)
mount them on colored card stock of your choice, and pin them above your light switches (or wherever else you want, really)

Well, framed prints are definitely a step up from matted print outs =0P
But I mean, I'm not going to tell you what you should get prints of, because art and decorations should reflect the personality of person who chooses them.
That being said, it's a cute idea to put a sunrise above your bed, but just make sure it's something you'll want to look at several months down the road.

Matching Decor really isn't an issue since there isn't much of anything. Basically all thats in my bedroom is my Bed, Dresser, Nightstand, etc... All of which are from Ikea

Lichtenstein is awesome stuff. I saw your first post in the other thread and immediately started thinking maybe buying some.

Anywhere else I should be looking. Right now I've somewhat limited myself to Art.com only because I have 25% off with some coupon thing I got in my change of address USPS packet.

    Awww Lichtenstein awwww.

There was a big poster sale on campus and they had "Whaam!" for $12.50 for each part (2). I stood there for about 20 minutes staring at it wondering if I should pony up the money for it. I didn't and am sorta regretting it. :(

Ikea bed is pretty solid. Especially for how cheap it was. I can't really talk about the sturdiness of it, but my brother has had a similar one for about 4ish years now and it's lasted through a few moves and still is fine minus a few scratches.

Still looking for some ideas people... Can't find anything that just makes me say, "Thats it"

Am I looking in the wrong places or something. Where are the best places you guys find your stuff? I'm looking for simple but stylish artwork that can be had for a relatively reasonable price.

finding art isn't the same as finding a new computer, "you can't just google it"
if you want something really unique i would suggest checking out local art galleries in your area; although i guess you could google for those
but until you see the art it's not much help, really

How about those drawers? I'm thinking about getting the short stack.

    The Bed =
The drawers are alright. Solid enough quality for something from Ikea the only thing I don't like is the fact all of your clothes show through the Frosted Glass. I figured it would when I bought it but I didn't realize how much it would somewhat annoy me. Other than that though I'd say for for it. Looks great with the entire set together.

I used to have a full size version of chemicalvipers av as a wall hanging above a similar looking bed. Looks pretty good imo.

Didn't get an Ikea mattress. My buddy owns a furniture store so I was able to get an awesome deal on a really nice mattress instead.

Thanks. I guess I'll look elsewhere. Being able to see my rumpled up clothes would aggrivate the hell out of me.
