    Is this possible?

    On my DD-214

    23. Discharge
    24. Honorable
    26. Seperation Code JFL
    27. Reentry code of 2Q

I was a 2E2 in the USAF for about 2 years until I had my ankle injuries occur. For some reason, I don't know why, I've actually thought about going back and I've had a buddy up in New England suggest that I could get on with his unit and get me a GS-10/11 with IT pay Position in Infosec (Which is what I do in the civilian equiv right now)

    26. Seperation Code JFL
JFL - Physical disability. entitled to severance pay.

    27. Reentry code of 2Q
    RE-2Q- Medically retired or discharged

usmilitary.com says RE-2 codes make it difficult to get back in (they are not waiverable), but you can get your code upgraded to a type 3 if the condition that got you out of the service has changed. The process is detailed at this link:

Interesting, is being pretty much a Comm / Office dweeb help the unit to want to push it a little further?

It's never a bad thing to open closed doors.

Spoke with the unit, as long as I can pass the MEPS physical (which I can) they can get the RE 2Q waivered all day along.

Still a crazy glimmer in my eye to do this. If I can get the GI Bill again, or some how, get my Master's degree program paid for. Hmmm.

Its kind of scary to think about it, but for some reason, I would not mind it either.

I just don't feel like I accomplished anything in my little 2 years in before I got medically seperated and I can't really call myself a true vet for just sitting around in Nebraska on my ass working on old electronics.

    less talk.
    more swearing in.

Seriously, though. What scares you about it? It's the Air Guard. I'm not trying to poke fun at the AF, but for most jobs it's not like you're going to be doing hand-to-hand combat or anything. I can relate 100% to your feelings that you didn't accomplish anything worth the two year investment you made. I had the same thoughts about the 5.5 years active I did in the AF. But there comes a time when you have to either STFU or go ahead and take some action. :hsughno:

Government Service. It's a civilian pay grade.

coud you provide a guide about these pay grade systems?
who gets paid by GS pay grade?
I know a girl who works as an engineer in the army. she says she works only 1 job but her salary is based on 2 numbers, one is GS and the other is ES or something (not sure if it's even ES). she is sort of a coordinator. she mainly shuttles between the pentagon and her army base (is that why she got paid by two systems?), receives projects from the pentagon, divides them into smaller projects and then distributes them among her engineer department, etc.
