Centrino usually means processor, chipset, and wireless are all Intel I believe.

"Centrino Duo" is simply a brand for laptops with intel dual-cores.
The previous one is "Core Duo", current is "Core 2 Duo (Merom)".

Next in line are the Penryn chips. The early ones will also be called "Centrino Duo/Core 2 Duo (Penryn)", then those with enhanced features will be called "Centrino Pro"

centrino just means it's been certified and has intel-branded cpu, chipset, and wireless.

core2duo CAN be centrino.... but being core2duo doesn't necessarily make it centrino.
