:dunno: I've never used one, can barely draw but...figured they might have their place with giving me more control for cutting people out or making masks. Mouse is really pissing me off right now

oh, I heard they are selling, or will soon be selling a 4x6 model for widescreen computer screens. If you are using widescreen, I think it's worth it if they don't charge much more for it.

  6. what kind of mouse are you using that it's difficult to make masks? I used a ball mouse for the longest time. Upgraded to a rechargeable Logitech Bluetooth MXLaser mouse and this thing is pinpoint accurate!

Check it out - Model # M-RBA97, there's actually a newer version out more that is alittle more beefy but this mouse is pretty sweet.

    20.1 right now...pondering a second...or just a LARGE widescreen :dunno:

I can't handle ball mice...mouses... whatever... I've got at top of the line microsoft, I can make the masks- it just takes me longer than what I think it should (like...if I was using a pencil :) )

  8. Yea ball mice are horrible.
Optical mice suck too, I'm sure you're probably using an optical right now that's why you're having a hard time.

    try one of these then

errr...I'm meant using a top of the line microsoft laser mouse. I thought you meant ball mice like they used to be in the early nineties- a ball sitting ontop of something, you moved to ball around that was it

mice are worthless at masking compared to a tablet. And burning/dodging is sooooooooo much more natural and controlled. Pressure sensitivity >>>>>>>>>>>>> *

oh, by the way, the first day or two that you use it it will feel REALLY wierd and you may hate it. Be patient and get used to the way the cursor moves though and you'll end up in love with it.

The thing that's so hard to get used to is that each pixel on the screen is mapped to a point on the tablet that doesn't change. So you know how you are used to picking up the mouse and moving it during a long scroll? You can't do that with a tablet and it feel really unnatural at first. It makes for a wierd eye/hand coordination thing.

The way I got used to it was I didn't use the mouse at all for about 4 hours. I used only the tablet to navigate the OS and make menu selections, etc. It forced me to get used to the tablet boundaries. After that it was a cake walk.

I'm betting the cursor movement seemed bizarre?

I bought my girlfriend a Wacom because she draws tons, and they are seriously cool, if I had the money lying about I'd pick one up.
