    Web Apps Fat-Off: Day 11

    Posted by centernetworks | 10/11/2006

[IMG]Over the past couple of days, I have been chatting with Harold from iTrainHarder. I had a quick look at his web app as we chatted and I decided to add it to the Fat-Off. So today I officially created an account and here is my initial take from using the program today.
    • iTrainHarder might be the most feature packed of all of the tools - bringing together nutrition, training, measurements, blog and a trainer option
    • I think the fonts need to be a good percentage larger if this tool is to make it to the mainstream market
    • Excellent Web 2.0 features like the food finder and the exercise finder - I tested the food finder and I think some of the search could be improved - for example I search for hamburger and the first 50 results are all hamburger buns, then finally a burger patty.
    • Each section has a tutorial as well both text and video - very well done
    • My only other initial concern is that the app is not as "pretty" as it could be. Besides the fonts, the colors are kind of cold feeling.
I am excited to have iTrainHarder as part of the Web Apps Fat-Off. I think they will give the other participants a run for the money!

i entered iTrainHarder into this "fitness tracking" website competition for next generation websites. the company doing it does all these reviews for websites and shit so it is good PR :o

i checked out the competition, i rock the shit out of their features :coold:

and clearly i am not a graphics person :o

and for all the OTers that use it, I am rolling out groups like facebook has, so the OT group will be the first to appear

you can share your workouts and shit, harass other members, and any other features you can think of :o

I'd love to be able to see this or something similar to it :
    Set no.1: 200lbs x 10 (2000lbs)
    Set no.2: 210lbs x 10 (2100lbs)
    Set no.3: 220lbs x 10 (2200lbs)
    Set no.4: 225lbs x 10 (2250lbs)
    Total weight lifted = 8550lbs
Average weight per set = 2137lbs
    Average weight per rep = 213.7lbs (214lbs)

Oh and I think the design is fine, the simpler the better. Everyone wants something stylish now ala Apple.

It's one of the many ways to make sure you progress but it would be quite a hassle to calculate it everytime :o

well, if you specify a more detailed query, like Milk AND Cheese, the search is very, very smart

the hard part is, i have so many foods that i have been working on a ranking system. a lot of things you search for it puts the more generic things up top. the hard part is finding all the generic things to rank them higher :hs:

Great ! I'm curious about the social features too. Can't wait until you sell the website to Google and become filthy rich

When I'll have some spare time I'll translate some of the stuff I saw in health psychology class concerning compliance to health related goals.
