Dunno if anyone remembers my thread from a few weeks ago, but I landed the deal. Holla. Looking like:

    How-to guide for "Urban Homesteading."
    - All images will be mine.
    - 3-5 weekends, both days, shooting all day
    - ~150 images used + front and back cover images
    - 5000c on the first run — more if it's successful :x:
    - Pay: Enough to buy a 7D and two L primes and still have money for taxes
    - Print date: ~20 months

    Super stoked :coold:

I shoot for local magazines and other outlets and the author saw my work and sent my name to the publisher and contacted me. After some negotiation and sending a private portfolio link to to the publisher I was hired. Cliffs: author saw my work, loved it, hired me.

Thanks, everyone for for the  The book is essentially about people who grow their own food in an urban-type setting i.e., hip 30–40 somethings who live in the city, grow their own veggies, drive a prius and teach at a liberal arts college. Essentially it will be a lot of garden/food/portrait work.

As far as legal stuff goes, it was pretty easy. I retain copyright and they get exclusive rights. Pretty standard deal.

Also, if I get a few copies, which I am assuming I will, I'll shoot some out to people or at least PDF it and share that. Bear in mind the print date is nearly two years away. Deadline for work is May, 2010.
