I didnt even bother putting on the kit lens and just started using the 50mm. its interesting not being able to zoom to a target having to step back or forward.

So far its taking decent pix.... IN auto mode. :hs: I need to relearn all this stuff apparently after not using it for so long.

There's always a learning curve associated with a new tool. Moving from my 30 year old film SLR (which i was very familiar with) to the D70 required adjustment.

    Congrats tho! :bigthumb:

I remember how easy it was to take great night shots with my Sony 717... This is going to be wierd.. :o

Do you have the 50 1.8 or the 1.4?

They're both great lenses, and I agree that it's slightly odd to not be able to zoom in and out. The benefit is the extreme sharpness and great bokeh that comes with using the lens.
