How is an expensive, thirsty car a good daily driver in a bad economy?

$30k (with my work's discount), mid 20's gas mileage (high 20's in highway)... how is that "expensive" and "thirsty"? :squint:

If you actually want to drive the car then it's far from economical

A heavy ass car with a turbo engine is gonna be terrible on fuel

I've had a GTI before... it's plenty fine and can fit plenty of shit.

I'm guessing you never driven one and are just blind hating for the sake of hating with no solid arguments, amirite?:hsugh:

even with a stage2 APR kit, it was 28mpg hwy, 23 city, and carried all my kids and the wife and groceries more than fine.

I did a 48hour test drive of a GTI and it fucking drank fuel like a bitch. To be fair I was driving it hard most of the time but I might aswell have been driving a RX7 for the mileage I was getting

The .:R32 is an amazing car, top to bottom.

With the 4cyl turbo you'll have easier/cheaper tuning options, reliability and good gas mileage :dunno:

looks great, im very excited by this

I cannot understand the VW hate, practically every performance car they make is desirable in a fast daily driver kind of way

i wouldnt buy one for the track but fuck, they always tune REALLY well too.

    that's what I'm guessing.

the only reason I got rid of the GTI was because it was a FWD and it understeered like a bitch. I'm guessing with AWD, and a more powerful engine/tranny, and a nice APR chip, the GTI-R will be a nice little screamer and fun dialy driver car.

it's just a temporary thing anyways, till the next gen M3 twin turbo comes out. :noes:
