    So much fucking fail Volkswagen.

If Mitsubishi and Subaru can deliver full power on turbo engines why can't you.

    Nobody cares about Australia

You'd think the ecu would be advanced enough to adapt to conditions though (knock and atmospheric pressure sensors) that they wouldn't have to make any changes to the actual map.

    what's so shocking?

Sounds fairly smart on VWs behalf. Better to offer a detuned version up front than have 11ty engine failures down the road.

    Wirelessly posted via wap.offtopic.com (trollphone: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 1.5; en-us; A6277 Build/CUPCAKE) AppleWebKit/528.5+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.2 Mobile Safari/525.20.1)

Ahaha how is it tuned so highly that it needs to be detuned for climate changes. If your shit is at 100% its bound to have issues. Fucking vw

i just dont understand how it is our Ford turbo 6's are well into the 400hp bracket stock now, Ford is about to unveil a new range of supercharged v8's, and VW can't even make 260hp without issues

That's because the Ford engine is fucking huge and makes lazy power.

thats not my problem that Ford know how to make a performance engine and VW don't.

they have little baby sidemounts usually...that and VAG turbo's are typically really undersized (for "response") so they are blowing hotter air to start with.

Also if the combustion chamber is shaped anything like it was in my 1.8t golf, it's just asking for detonation.

    Idk much about VWs

I know Subarus pull timing when it's very hot out though cause the shitty top mount bakes
