Assault Rifle Used by Strip Club Shooter Favorite of Cop Killers

Assault rifles are a special category of firearm specifically designed for use on the battlefield and present an unreasonable risk to public safety in the hands of civilians. For a detailed explanation of how assault weapon differ from sporting firearms see the VPC publication Bullet Hoses.

Bushmaster markets its assault weapons as “The Best... By a Long Shot!”

Everything that comes out of the VPC is a biased emotional piece of crap with no actual factual tie in. Not surprising.

In fact its just remarkably poor. Lets dissect "favorite of cop killers." In 2005, 3 law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty by rifles. Despite this already being a remarkably low number already only one was by a .223 round, the other 2 were by 7.62x39. If you want to get even more detailed from 1996-2005 103 officers were killed by rifles. 21 were killed by .223, 44 by 7.62x39. In 2004 there were no officers kiled by .223, but one was killed by .22. Its quite sad that people even listen to what they say because it is never factual.

To round out the details 42 officers were killed with handguns and 5 shotguns for a total of 50 officers killed by firearms in 2005 which I think is a remarkably low number given the number of police in the nation.

1. Semiautomatic assault weapons (like AK and AR-15 assault rifles and UZI and MAC assault pistols) are civilian versions of military assault weapons. There are virtually no significant differences between them.

Nope, no differences at all :ugh2:

5. They can't even get their own story straight:

1. Semiautomatic assault weapons (like AK and AR-15 assault rifles and UZI and MAC assault pistols) are civilian versions of military assault weapons. There are virtually no significant differences between them.
2. Military assault weapons are "machine guns." That is, they are capable of fully automatic fire. A machine gun will continue to fire as long as the trigger is held down until the ammunition magazine is empty.
3. Civilian assault weapons are not machine guns. They are semiautomatic weapons. (Since 1986 federal law has banned the sale to civilians of new machine guns.) The trigger of a semiautomatic weapon must be pulled separately for each round fired. It is a mistake to call civilian assault weapons "automatic weapons" or "machine guns."

Point 1 makes a statement, point 2 builds on that statement, then point 3 completely contradicts points 1 and 2.

I guess logic doesn't mean much to them anyways.

Funny that "the predator" is a varmint gun and the ad says nothing about its ability to kill, uhm, humans.

'Gotta love the dogma in the leading line:

I also happen to think the proliferation of large SUVs, propane canisters, and fully functional reproductive organs out there presents an unreasonable risk to public safety in the hands of civillians but I'm not making such statements with any seriousness.

You don't need a reason to exercise your 2nd amendment right. I'm so sick of hearing that there's "no reason" for civilians to own rifles such as those. People never need a reason to exercise religion or free speech, yet for some reason these assholes think they can use an entirely different interpretation of the constitution for amendment 2 than they use for the rest, just so they can attempt to legislate their fears.

while most civilian might not catch it don't you think if you were going after the AR being available to civilians and it being a cop killer gun, you would I don't know lets say show one with what would clearly be a .223 mag and not what looks like a 22lr stick mag?

I assumed they were 9mm magazines, but you're right that they probably should have shown the more-impressive .223 magazines that everyone is used to seeing.

Groovy. If there's no significant differences, then shouldn't it be easier for law abiding citizens to be able to own the real deal? :naughty:

Reading that website gave me a fucking headache. If the military's main purpose was to "hose down the enemy" by "spraying bullets" at them then why don't they issue more SAWs and less M16's? I wish they'd cite one source that instructs a soldier to indescriminantly "spray" bullets in the general direction of the enemy.

The same way the military does during combat. After all, they are practically the same gun. :hsugh:
